The Raven
This poem is about a man that is in his house reading some books trying to forget his girlfriend Lenore that she died a while a go the author is " Edgar Allan Poe". The poem is melancholy, a man looking for some ways to forget his grief for his love Lenore. But when he was reading he hear someone napping on his door. When he open the door, he don’t see anyone, suddenly he sees a Raven that is sitting on a statue and stays there forever.
The mood of this poem is melancholy as I understand the poem, the author is trying to for get his love Lenore that is death. He sees everything in dark, like the month of December that is a cold and a dark month. He is full of grief and by reading his books tries to for get her death. The poet use assonance in this poem, for example " For the name and radiant whom the angels name Lenore". He uses rhyme scheme in the poem " Back into the chamber turning all my soul within me burning, soon again I heard a tapping". This words rhyme as well he use's repetition in " The Raven" on example of that are this words that he repeat; more, never more. I think that he means that he doesn't want to hear the rave and don’t want to suffer for Lenore.
I did like this poem because it tells you how can we suffer when you lose some one that you really Love. And it is melancholy, makes you try to for get your grief. And another thing that I like about the poem is that the poet don’t tell you how Lenore died, if makes it mysterious. The mood of the poem made makes me feel sad because it makes me think that in any moment you could lose the one you really love.
