BILINGUAL EDUCATION
As we know Bilingual education is tough in two languages, English and our native language. Bilingual education is very helpful for the student that don't know English it is better to understand their own language at the same time they get to know two languages.
To me bilingual education is important because it helps me to improve both languages. The bilingual class has two languages that you could learn in approximately 2 or 3 years. It helps me to improve my native language in vocabulary skills. The other one was English, I adapted this language in 3 years. I learned so many things in bilingual classes. I think is a great opportunity for us the students that come from another country and don’t understand the language. The Bilingual classes explain the concept or topic that the teacher is given and you learn in both languages.
I t helps you too look for opportunity's that you could get involved in and in the future you help others with your knowledge to translate to somebody that don’t know the language. I think that not only I am happy with this program, but every body else that are in bilingual class. It is a great benefit, if I didn’t have the bilingual program I think I would never learn the language and it would be more difficult for me. I would be lost in the classroom and I'd feel like the teacher and students would ignore me. Probably the time would pass, I would adapt, but I think I would forget my native language, that is one of disadvantages of being in regular class. In other words I would be lost.
I think this program is a great benefit for all of us and we appreciate the board Education of New York. I think it is a bad idea to take away this benefit for the other bilingual students that don't know the gangue.
